Filling Holes
What is a good filler to use when covering up countersunk screw in their holes? So your model assemblies look as if it were one solid piece and not screwed on! The material needs to be removable in case of repairs or modifications, but solid enough for sanding and painting.
Would this filler also work on large fills like the hull lower front to the hull sides? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I suspect some would consider this heresy, but I have found success in smoothing out holes, etc, with superglue. It sands and contours well, and can be chipped out if needed. As an alternative, I have used Milliput, which I found can also be chipped out if needed.

By the way, love your avatar. Why don't you have a gallery site so we can see more of your model? I tried deleting the background on one of my gallery submissions, and I was pleased with the result. Sorta looks like the illustrations in Schneider's Tigers in Combat I, if you squint your eyes a bit...

I use PLASTIC METAL which is made in the USA. It has the same colour as steel. It comes in a cylinder and you cut off what you want. Then roll it like plasticene and then push it into the hole you want to fill. When it sets hard you can file it like wood. It can be dug out with a screwdriver.

I use standard car body filler on all joints and screw holes, it sands down well and is easy to chip out when requied.
