One idea for all us

Post by Alfredo Campanini »

During the construction of our tanks, we need to keep the hull raised, higher and higher, until the assembly of the tracks.
It would be nice to have a small platform with articulated arms, which could be operated with a worm by a simply cordless screwdriver or drill.
I am not able to make a drawing, but maybe someone can take this idea and develop it.

One of these:

But make sure you get one with a nut to turn, rather than a handle, otherwise you can't operate it on a bench

Motor Cycle Lift

Post by Steve Stuart »

Hi All
The Motor Cycle lift is a very useful purchase.....
I have just used it to lift two 60Kg solid wood High Level Corner Units for our new kitchen into position all on my own, I am a 10 stone weakling who learnt the hard way on a farm, shifting 1cwt sacks of corn when student! Just because it is bought for the tank these things can be used for other purposes, which helps to justify your interest in this hobby!
Regards
Steve

Hi, I have the same lift, did you make that long extension yourself? Can you explain how? Thanks!

It is quite simple; I removed the spring pin and removed the crank, then I drilled a copper pipe (copper is not ideal, but it was what I had in the workshop) ø 6 mm. the two ends. One part is inserted into the pivot on the platform and fixed with M6 bolt/nut, in the opposite hole just insert a screwdriver for the motion.

Hi Ad and Alfredo,
that is a brilliant idea. I have sought for a long time such a part.
Where can I buy this?
I cannot find this in the internet. :(

Many thanks,

Fred
