I have over recent weeks, while awaiting my Comet, been trawling the interweb trying to make some sense of where the British tank crew coverall fits in the grand scheme of things.
There is a wealth of Dragon German WW2 crew figures, however very few ,if any, British crew figures.
Now I know this subject has been raised before, nevertheless, how are you chaps intending to depict your Comet tank crews.
I have purchased the 'Terry Davies' model and attempted to colour dye the pixie suit, didn't work. I have painted the suit but the effect is not good, probably because my weathering skills are limited.
For my money these tanks need a well 'presented' crew.
This is my first 1/6 so I want to do the Comet justice. At what period after the second world war does the camouflage pixie suit come into use? I have seen an article and photograph of this type of coverall, dated/made 1944.
I have searched for the'Douglas Kay'figure, as rare as 'hens teeth'. Any thoughts......Mick

Comet Tank Figures
Thanks for the reply Colin, will take a look. I think the Comet build will challange my modelling skills, so any help in this area will be much appreciated.
Eventually on completing the Comet I intended displaying the model at local vintage/craft/model shows. There are any number in my area, and I just know someone will question the authenticity.
There may well be WW2 tank crew who will remember.
Thanks again. Mick
