Pz III Roadwheel Profile

These might be helpful to anyone thinking of re-profiling the roadwheels.
The section is taken from a British report studying a captured tank. One of the roadwheels was sectioned and this outline is taken directly from a photo. Credit to the Tank Museum Archive. For study purposes only.

The outline below is the shape for a form tool, orientated the right way to turn on a lathe (hence the reverse image above).

Many thanks for the work in generating that profile Stephen.

It's remarkable the number of curves and angles which go into each wheel. I wonder how much development went into something as basic as a road wheel, for them to end up with that design.

And from Tim's excellent picture, I hadn't realised that there was clear air between the wheels, so the whole central section of the wheel was an open void.

I presume the fact that it ran on tracks prevented any damage to the rims, as you get on car wheels
