technical build query

Post by Dave Hill »

looking at the build instructions i cant see the wood for the trees
so

1) what fixtures are used to fix hull lower front to floor? [3 off]
2) what fixtures are used to fix rear plate to floor [2 off]
3) does the Deflector CE0264 have a bias position ie does it matter which way up its placed

Hi Dave

You should use M4x6 hex heads to fix the floor to the lower front and rear plates. The deflector does have a bias. For late Tigers, which have small idlers, it goes down. For mid and early Tigers, with the large idler, it goes up.

1&2: We all have the same problem: The package does not contain enough screws for the front and back, only the sides. Find something better looking while you are at it! Maybe countersunk?

Cheers,

I replaced them all with countersunk screws for a smooth bottom.

thanks for your replies Rocky and Christoffer I was begining to think i was going ga ga.

The trouble is that the M4*6 arent long enough for starters and the holes need tapping anyway ;besides lack of said items

BUT yes i was looking for a supplier of screws who would deal in small orders. I was going to use my friend Google; as i live in Sheffield there should be plenty of places to hand

As i dont seem to have the bolts to hand for Cover A on the base plate either

Dave,

Your best bet is EKC products in the UK.

well i was looking at IFS fastners ; i have used them some years back when at work - but their website didnt impress me regards ease of use.

Went to Stagunset and the items in the mail - wait to see delivery
times etc. but they do no minimum order so i could get 1 bolt
if i needed to.
and countersunk bolts will be used for front and back holes
