Sarah's Tiger

Post by Sarah Frazer »

Hi Guys,

My Tiger has arrived today :D

After diving through all the packing peanuts I had a look at a few bits. They make my Panzer III bits, like the turret, look so small! As with the Panzer III I am very impressed with the parts and the packaging as well, all first class.

It will be a little while until I start the Tiger as I want to finish the Panzer III, though I am so temped to start on the Tiger

Mine is Serial No, 23

Regards,

Sarah

Hi Sarah.
Congratulations on joining the Tiger pack you will love it, and if it turns out like your Panzer 111 it should be very nice too.
Cheers Paul

Hi Guys,

Though I am going to finish my Panzer III first I am doing a little bit of work on the Tiger so I can get a feeling for what one I might do and I can go away and do more research. The Armortek kit does give a lot of latitude on what period you want your Tiger to be. I'll probably do mine as one from May 1943 to December 1943, with October/November 1943 the most likely. I'll look for a Tiger in that period that has a nice paint job and maybe a bit of history around it.

As my Panzer III is taking up all the space in my workshop, and I have the house to myself for a couple of days, I've built up the hull inside. As you can see below I had a little help building it.

I still can't get over the size difference between the Panzer III and the Tiger parts, a couple of photo's below show this below.

I've got a few little modifications in mind, but these depend a lot on exactly what period the Tiger is. But then again there is so much scope as some parts might be replaced with newer parts, or even old parts scavenged from unserviceable tanks.

Anyway, now I have to go and take it pieces and hide the evidence

Hi Ragnar,

I'm going to use the mid cupola on mine. How early a Tiger are you going for?

Hi Derek,

The Tiger is being put to one side as I do want to finish the Panzer III first. But it is so tempting to carry on with the Tiger
