New Tiger in Texas

Post by Edward Earp, Jr. »

My KT arrived this past July but it's been a slow start for me. My Dorothy of 60 years passed away last May and the desire to do anything has been very slow to return. Anyway the KT is pure joy for me. This is my first attempt at this sort of thing and I have spent alot of time reading the Forum.......lots of good info. Up till July everything along the hobby line for me has had wings. As soon as I know how to send photos I'll post my progress. Would appreciate hearing from someone in Texas.
All the best, Ed

Hi Ed,

I am so sorry about your wife's passing. I can only image what it must be like.

We talked briefly awhile ago on the phone. Good to hear that you're working on the KT. I'm in the process of purchasing an airplane, and if the deal goes through, I'll be making trips to Fredericksburg this spring. My wife and I like the Fredericksburg area, but it was always too far to drive from Houston. Perhaps we can meet and compare notes firsthand at one of the German restaurants. :D

Like you, this is my first model and I'm having soooo much fun with it!

Posting photos is actually quite easy. I use Photobucket.com, but there are several other sites that are also free. You will need to join (free) and follow the links for uploading photos to the website. Email me and I'd be happy to walk you through the process.

I left you a PM with my email address. Take care and look forward to meeting.

Regards,

Mark

Hi Ed,

Sorry to hear about your loss, I cannot imagine being without my wife.

I am not in Texas, but near (relatively) in Los Angeles and have my King Tiger waiting in the wings for me to finish my Panzer III - They are great fun and the community here just adds to the pleasure.

Regards

David

Edward,
My deapest condolences as well on the passing of your wife. No words can sooth a loss like that. Congratulations on having 60 years together, that is an amazing accomplishment and something to be proud of.

I hope the KT gives you a lot of satisfaction. Running these things makes you feel like a kid again. I too would have opted for the Porche turret if I could have purchased a KT.

Keep us posted on your progress and welcome to the forum.
Kind regards,
Bob

Hi Ed

So very sorry to hear about your wife.

I know you will love building KT, I know I have (slowly I'll admit) but it has been fun.

I'm just south of Dallas and I know my wife loves the Fredericksburg area so maybe some time we can meet and share notes.

I have some pictures of the KT from the patton museum if you would be interested, let me know.

I'm sorry for your loss Ed.

I too am a first time Armortek modeler but I have to wait a few more months for my Comet to get here.

My wife and I love the Fredricksburg area and spent our honeymoon at the Moonlight Inn B&B a few years ago.

We get enough Texas models going and we'll have to have a meet. 8)
