Turret rotation motor pinion location

Hi to all KT owners,
I have got an idea regarding the pinion location of the turret rotation motor.

I found (at least in my KT) it is a bit too low to fully engaged with the turret ring gear:

So I insert 3 washers underneath the pinion ( between 2 to 6 are OK):

It is much better now (I reckon so far):

A thrust bearing should be the best thing to do the job. But why not using several washers that cost almost nothing?

If there is any problem of doing it in this way that I haven't thought of, please give you advice. Thanks!

I noticed the same but The manual says you have to check clearence before tightening the grub .

The shims can make a hassle thou, im not sure.
One more thing. The mount will twist from the tourqe if not secured to the upper deck plate (theese motors are industrial highend) and the 3 mm plate will be bent and as you all have noticed its not quite flat from startes. It just needs a little more bending to get flat with the deck.

Easiest way to check for right position is to simply mount the deck and turret with roof of, and simply adjust the height of the sprocket.
And yet again i didnt use the grub. I used a cap head. And countersunk the M4 wich holds the motor for freeplay.
Im allergic to grubs from my RC/car racing days .
Atleast the smaller ones..

Thanks for the advice. I have also bent the decker bracket a little bit, otherwise the mounted motor is not in vertical.

Yes, a cap head screw should be better than the grub one. I will do the same thing.
