Post by duncanallender »

Hi guys,Does anyone know where I can get powdered iron filings to paint on (when mixed with some glue)- to get a rusty effect.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Duncan.
You could also just buy "Scenic rust" from a model shop or e bay.
Cheers Paul

P.S. e bay item number free postage dealt with them a lot.

Duncan

Rather than use iron filings, maybe consider using pigments. One excellent source is Mig Productions here:

http://www.migproductionsforums.com/sho ... lvibls94k7

They do a number of rust and metal weathering finishes and you can fix them once you've got the right effect.

If you look on the KT thread, I also posted an example of a model done by the owner of Mig showing what can be achieved.

Hope that helps.

Stephen

Hi Duncan.
Henry Ireton was a General in Oliver Cromwel's "New model army" the quote comes from God's Englishman himself {Oliver} to Mr.Ireton.

I will now hold my breath till a tank builder/historian proves me wrong ha ha.
Cheers Paul
