That's simply jaw dropping :shock:

The detail is wonderful, though I wonder who's been polishing it since 1947, to keep that shine :lol:

Working, and lethal, main gun plus it operates on a miniature radial engine :twisted:

Tim,
Thanks for posting this link. Amazing bit of craftmanship! Tiz a marvel when you consider no CAD (computer aided drafting) or CNC was used! It looks like the tool brackets, lamp brackets etc were somehow welded, brazed, or soldered to the the alloy deck. Thats an skill/art in itself (welding alum). Really cool model. The builder had excellent casting skills as well (turret, bogeys, and suspension bodies) all cast alum or brass.

I'm not surprised that this model won a prize it is amazing. I wonder what the engine runs like and how the tank is controlled because radio gear would not really have been capable of controlling it back then. i don't think proportional radio came into being until the 60's.
