A Day at the Park

Post by Tim Bowman »

I am happy to say that three Armortek owners from the West Coast were able to have an afternoon out with our tanks. Unlike the UK owners, we are spread far and wide so this is a rare occurrence here. Bob Morey drove down with his Panther and Sherman from Seattle, Washington to visit some friends he has in the area and then spent a few days at my house. Sean was there with his "perfectly functioning" Tiger 1. I had my Panther. Weather was perfect and it made for some nice photo and video opportunities. Great fun!

These videos are my first attempt at this sort of thing. In the second one, the challenge is driving and filming at the same time.

Thanks Bob and Sean for the great time!
Happy tanking!

Wonderful pictures Tim :D

That video of the three on the gravel must rate as one of the most realistic I've seen - perfect angle and the scenery appears completely to scale.

Are you a fellow Scorpions fan Tim?

Ps Love the sound track with the bullets pinging off the tanks.

Hi Tim,

perfect pictures, even better videos. You must have had a very enjoiable time in the park. Best video for me is the first one with the German voices. I like this one most. How did you manage this ? Is the sound a play back or is it coming through the speaker of your tanks ?

When the commander is targeting an enemy tank only 800 m away, you better fire your sprenggranate right now. Later is too late with this distance !
Is the shot on the next video ? As the gunner is answering : Sprenggranate loaded. Bummmmmmmm !!!!!!

Just perfect - Roland

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. It was really fun to have three of these rolling together.

I wish I would have taken more video.

Roland, what is even more amazing is how calm the crew sounds with a threat at only 800 meters and my commander didn't even flinch, fully exposed out of the cupola. Sign of a crack crew I guess. Unfortunately, I do not have video of the shot being fired. None of the tanks in the video have firing mechanisms.

Hopefully in a future video. I assume they would say something like, JA! VOLLTREFFER! SIE BRENNT!
:)

I have made some sound(voice) tracks to play on an MP3 player through my Panthers speakers. The ones in the video, however were simply added to the video's sound track.

Best regards
Tim

Tim,
The video's are awesome! The first is even better with the music! Great job making that video even better. Thanks for making engine sounds for my tank <with your awesome sounding Panther>. Here's a few more photos from my camera. Its was indeed a perfect day weather wise.

We should probably mention one final time how well Sean's Tiger ran compared to the Panthers.....
