To Jim and Dale

Post by Dave Dibb (Armorpax) »

Hi Jim,

I'm writing seperately in answer to your's and Dale's post's as I didn't want to hijack Stephens superb PIII build thread with my ramblings

The L24 is still ticking along in the background but as Ad has been waiting patiently for the quad...........for years , I have to get it done.

The problem with many parts is not the guys who have asked directly for them, as I do not think any of you have not subsequently bought

It is just the reality of this market place. To put it simply if 40-50 tanks are sold, maybe 20-30 people consider super detailing their tank and only 10-15 people actually buy the parts. If you've spent £100-£150 bringing it out and then £5-10 to produce each set 10-20 sales at £15-20 doesn't give much in the way of "compensation".

With the large kits like the Quad production costs alone can exceed £2000

I could heavily inflate the price of the parts with less potential but thats not what I want. I would rather keep them as affordable as possible to as many as possible and take my chances.

However  ....................where a part appears across a whole range of vehicles like many of the US parts, Bosch headlights, Noteks and tools we then start to get products that justify the hours making the masters, the costs of moulds, castings, packaging labels etc.

It is the sales of these bigger run items that allow me to offer more limited use items from time to time. The sales of the more regular items do dictate how much I can risk on the smaller run items and how often

The other factor that makes a big difference is, as this is my hobby as well, if I like a piece enough I can build it anyway and totally ignore its commercial potential

Hi Dale,

Rest assured I have no intention of stopping making these parts but hopefully you can all understand why some parts come along quicker than others.

Cheers

Dave

Dave,

I totally understand. I am not in a big hurry for the L24 Kit; and, as i stated before, i am hoping to adapt it to allow my Panzer III to utilize all three barrel types.
Thanks,

Jim
