Some GOOD news on the early idlers I planned for the Panther G. I'm getting very close to having a few sets of these available. A very few will be produced due to the large amount of work involved to make them. But the quality is excellent. Two CNC machined Aluminum idler wheels, with white metal inserts (4). Screws and washers included for bearing cap. Bearing cap is kit supplied part and is not included. Tim Bowmans excellent resin inserts (white parts) are shown for reference. The Idlers can also be used on an early version of the Jagdpanther.
Here are some of the latest photos of the idlers. I received the machined blanks this week. They look really good - will put them on my Panther soon to test them out. I am leaning back to the resin inserts just because they are much easier to produce and they save a lot of weight. The white metal inserts look good, but are very heavy. I will test the performance of both on my Panther.
I also machined the hub cab. I will modify your existing caps as shown if you send them to me.
Hi Tim,
Yes I think the resin will hold up fine. I'm going to put them on my tank initially too. I may switch to the metal insert once the mold is ready. But the resin inserts look beautiful to me right now. Your friends did a great job on the mold.
Here are some preliminary photos with the resin insert. The red primered tips of the track pins are from me messing around thinking I may paint the tips gun metal to keep them from rusting. Hmmm like I need more to do.
Bob, I received the Panther Idlers and they are just fantastic! The work is totally Top Drawer and could not be finer. I plan to use them on my Jadgpanther, which will give my chassis a slightly different look.
Keep me in mind for anything else you decide to do.

Bill,
Thanks for the feedback, so glad you are happy with them. I look forward to seeing some photos of your JP, that forum section has been dead for a while!
Kind regards,
Bob
