Detail set for King Tiger turret roof.

Post by Paul Morris »

Hi Fellas.
As with the armor guard i have made these items for my King Tiger and would like to offer them to you if there is enough interest i will send them out in a set for £35.00p All parts are either aluminium or brass and the parts consist of.

Spent casing ejection port, internal lock, consists of a turned brass spindle that fits into the ejection port hatch...this is threaded and comes with a handle that was turned to lock the hatch off from the outside. I have not made the twin rail that ran along the underside of the roof as i thought it was not required on the model however if anyone would like one just let me know.

Curved rain guard. This was welded to the turret roof next to the spent casing hatch, this will just require a milliput weld when fitted to the turret roof.

"Zielstachel" Blade sight. Starting in May 1944 this was mounted on the front left corner of the turret roof, the "Kimme" rear sight was simply a pair of wires welded to the armor cover of the periscope on the cuppola. This set up was used to give the commander a rough guide when selecting targets.

Insert for the turret mounted close defence weapon.
