Panther Ammo and Patronenkasten

Post by Tim Bowman »

Hi everyone

Here's the first in a series of ammo projects I am working on. I'll add photos of the other types of available ammunition soon.

The following are available: Panther 7,5cm Pzgr. Patr. 39 Kw.K42, 7,5cm Sprgr. Patr. 42 Kw.K42. Panzer IV 7,5cm Pzrg. Patr. 39 Kw.K 40, 7,5cm Gr.Patr.38 HI/B Kw.K 40. Patronenkasten for the both are available in unpainted wood or painted green and include complete markings and labels that match the specific ammo type in the transport case. Each piece is done by hand including the detailed wood grain/knots in each piece.

The ammunition has matching markings on the casing's base, side and projectile.

Hi Michael,

Thanks. I should have them ready by the end of this week. Please PM me with the address where you would like them sent. Once I have shipping costs I can send you the total. I accept Paypal but no need to worry about payment until I have your order ready to send.

As far as Jagdpanther ammo? Mike Stannard already has that covered and in the works I believe with these fine pieces! http://www.armortek.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1096

I will be making Tiger II/Jagdpanther boxes though with complete markings to go with his ammo. :D My Tiger 1 boxes are also designed for Mike's Tiger 1 ammo. http://www.armortek.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=199

I have also had several requests for the "Tropical" versions of the PIII ammo boxes and will happily make those as well for anyone interested with a DAK or Italian campaign PIII. I hope to turn some 5cm ammo this weekend. I guess the PIV and Tiger 1 would also have "Tropical" color and marked boxes?? I am admittedly ignorant when it comes to nearly all things DAK and will attempt to research it more thoroughly.

regards
Tim

Tim,

I am VERY interested in getting both 50mm (5cm) long and short ammo boxes in "Tropical" DAK scheme. And, obviously, shells too... (I don't know if your considering making 50mm, short ammunition as the standard Armortek P3 is a long-barrel version)

Coincidently, I just asked Dave at Armorpax if he would consider making the 50 mm shells, as I did not know you were considering offering them. I bring this up because I don't want to cause an issue or cause either of you extra work. (I just cause a bit of a mess for Lee and Dave, as my impatience got the better of me; unfortunately, I see things and the "KID" in me kicks in with that "GOT-TO-HAVE-IT-NOW" attitude and lookout......) Anyway, please keep me in mind if you do offer P3 sheels and/or boxes.
Thanks,

Jim

Hi Jim

I was planning on doing both L42 and L60 ammunition in standard, as well as DAK "tropical", patronenkasten. However, if Dave decides to produce them, I will not be producing them.

I do have a late Tiger I would like to get working on.

Kind regards
Tim

Guys,

I ordered 1 each (HE and AP), fully painted, of the Panther ammo from Tim. I just received them today. All I can say is that they are outstanding. The craftsmanship is excellent. If you are looking for ammo for your Panther or Panzer IV, you need to get these!!

Tim,

I got an email from Dave saying he had more than enough projects and since you were planning them already, he was not. So, may I ask you to reconsider?

If you need a base amount of interest (product orders) to move on this, what would that be? I could possible help that effort with an advance order?

Please let me know.
Thanks,

Jim

Hope the following might be helful. I'm still looking for photos of the patronenkasten for the DAK or 10 Pz Div in Tunisia.

I'd be very interested in L60 (KwK39) ammunition and the boxes. Great work on the bigger stuff.

Hi Stephen and Antony

Stephen, thank you for the images. The more reference, the better. I love that color photo of the crew loading up!!! I have started work on both L42 and L60 and hope to post some photos soon. I'm making a few types of each, both complete rounds and spent casings.

Antony, thank you for the pictures of the cases. I do know of the site and it is a superb source of reference. I will definitely be making the wood boxes and I am thinking of MAYBE(big maybe) making the metal version as well(not in metal but in resin).

Thanks for the interest.
Kind regards
Tim
