Good afternoon, after a pal has sorted the radio set up for me I am trying to get the model to move under its own power.
I have set this up as per the instructions (Rev 1.0), both of the diffs work fine on the bench though CP0402 needs to be encouraged to sit against CP0401. do I need to add a washer or a spring to make a better fit.
First time with these diffs, they are wonderful engineering, but... I cant get it to work. Wondering what I have missed, I have read all the builds on the forum and no one else appears to have this problem.

Re: Front and rear differential not engaging
I'm.not sure what your specific problem is, your description of them not working isn't clear.
When I built my diffs they worked OK on the bench and when put on the chassis. But the front diff misbehaved after I fitted the steering servo. I had fitted springs in the joint cups and removing them made everything work fine.
I think the diffs are very sensitive to set up.and alinement. But I can't shed any light on how to go about tuning their set up.
Just make sure the UJ cups have been properly cleaned up of any machining issues like sharp edges etc that might jam up when the steering is turned under power.
Let us know how you get on.
Mick

The face of the gears appears to not mesh and stay meshed with the Diff CP0401. How do I make it work better please. I have considered putting a washer between the CP0402 and the bearing to make the CP0402 more proud/ tighter to the diff.

Re: Front and rear differential not engaging
I'm not sure about shimming the bearing and pinion. It's machined so that the mesh is exact without tinkering.
Did you put too much grease in the housing? I ended up scooping a lot out when I had similar issues on the front diff. More is not always good.
As long as you have followed the build instructions exactly then everything should work fine. I suspect you are missing something obvious but hidden from view.
Are the nose caps correctly oriented, I remember the instructions being adamant about maintaining the position of each piece, so I pop marked mine before taking the sticky red dots off just to be sure.
