Deck support brackets
Think l might have found the answer to the problem of getting nuts on the deck support brackets especially the front ones which l have no chance of getting nuts on. ( hands are 3 XL ) Going to cut some aluminium blocks and drill and tap them so I only have to put the screw in from the outside. Should solve the problem I think.

Re: Deck support brackets
Feeling your pain, my trick was to get a long thin plate, I use 1mm carbon fibre about one cm wide. I then get some contact adhesive and activator.
Small blob of glue on the nut and activator to set it. Then simply offer the nut under the deck and hover the nut below the bracket and screw in from above. Then simply twist the plate and you will separate the nut from the plate.
Sorry a bit long winded.

That should work mate. I just wanted to be able to get the deck on and off if I needed to access anything inside without all the hassle of trying to get to the nuts. This way I just need to undo the screws from the top.

Re: Deck support brackets
After reading some of the posts I amended the deck fasteners. I drilled two new holes in the original supports and countersunk the holes. I cut sone 5mm steel plate and using my new holes drilled using 2.5mm drill and M3 countersunk screws.
Did this to all supports brackets. Fitted the top deck and drilled through the hole into the bracket hole and into the 5mm plate a made. Then tap into the new 5mm plate.
This then allows easy on off of the top deck without worrying about nuts.

Re: Deck support brackets
That will make life a lot easier Martin. Cut out my aluminium blocks today, will drill and tap them tomorrow. The blocks were cut at a 6 degree angle to match the sides and keep the top parallel. Will post pics when l can remember how to do it.
