I have another question if you guys dont mind, I have just been assembling my KT 2009 (081) and I notice that 2 of the suspension Bump stops are useless as the suspension arms will always collide with each other before they hit the bump stop. See pic below. Is this a known issue? Or have I made a mistake?

Just my 2 cents: Replace the kit's rubber bump pad by a thicker one (eg, a door stop bump) will do the work.

Hello Conrad

I was thinking on you have remembered the following instruction (from the manuel page 20 - about Road Wheels)

"Set the suspension arm to hang down at about 35 degrees, and mark the position of the fixed end of the torsion
bar before removing and filing a flat for the clamping screw. Reassemble and tighten down the clamp screws".

Yes I did thanks, the issue isn't dependant on the angle of the suspension, its the physical location of the holes on the hull side and the length of the suspension arms, they physically will bump into each other if the go horizontal (i guess unlikely) which because of the location of the bump stop means they will collide before they would ever hit the bump stop (in only 2 of the 4 stops).

I think the issue is the Bump stop is in the wrong position, it should be lower - nearer the suspension arms. Have a look at yours and try and force the suspension to bump onto all 4 bump stops - 2 will, 2 wont.

King Tiger (2013) No 31 is arrived in Denmark

Post by Allan Carlsen »

Hello all.

I have a stange problem in my amplifier module card. One of my wires from one of the speaker had come off. (hadn't seen it).

When I turned on the module card it made a small bang. Can't see what's wrong. There's a light in the power button.

No sound at all. Any tips on what went wrong.?

Regards Allan from Denmark

Did the wire come loose from the speaker of from the amplifier module ?

If the speaker wires have shorted together then you may have blown the amplifier chip.

Have you checked all the fuses ?

Adrian.

One of the semiconductors bolted to the heatsink seems to be disintegrated and the two white wires in front of it seem to have burn marks.

It is possible to buy and replace those transistors, as I have repaired these modules in the past, but it does depend if there has been any damage to the circuit board traces.
