Re: 2024 Armortek Kit Survey
All went smoothly when I realised you have to fill in every tick box in each category wheither it's a definate yes, maybe, or not interested.
Just a bit of bias, an all alloy CVR(T) Scimiter with a light weight brushless drive system would be a sure winner.
Watch them fly off the shelves.
It would fit in nicely with the new Bovington displays.
Forget WAM think VAM

Re: 2024 Armortek Kit Survey
Thanks to everyone who voted.
The survey is now closed - we have a bunch of data to go through and will compile the results.
Hopefully we will be able to announce the next kit on Wednesday.
To the one person who voted for a Maus (that would be you DB) ... sorry

Don't count your chickens - FAMO started with one person wanting one
You'll need to strengthen the factory floor before you do it though

Re: 2024 Armortek Kit Survey
Against my better judgement I'd actually go for a Maus.
If for no better reason as I'm sure it could double as a coffee table in my living room or as a mobile platform upon which to build smaller, lesser models....

Re: 2024 Armortek Kit Survey
Hi all.
Jerry, I like your thinking.
I could certainly use a mobile work bench too. Just think of the possibilities, construct an AT tank on the Maus, easily moved around the workshop so it doesn't get in the way. Store model parts inside its cavernous interior, even use it to move projects(in my case) outside for painting.
Further, it would be at roughly the right height to put a model into a vehicle without ramps!
The marketing plus side here is that if more model Maus were available then unloading at a venue would be a cinch, presuming others have bought a model of the Maus, which would be nice and convenient.
OK, the down side here is that there is the presumption that folk buy and built a Maus at the venue you are likely to be going to. This will probably be unlikely.
So what's the alternative?
Use the vast quantities of aluminium needed for the Maus and produce a smaller, slightly cheaper, lighter, faster, workshop friendly family of:--
All done in the best possible taste.

Re: 2024 Armortek Kit Survey
Well a couple of surprises so far ..
The M1A1 Abrams and CVRT have not made the cut. That's not to say they were the least popular, but that they were not at the top of the pile.
I'm quite sure we will get to the CVRT especially as I had the joy to drive one, but it won't be the next kit.

I can't get it this go around but this seems it would be fun to build and drive. Unless one needs to be adopted in the spring I would go for this.

Phew, that was a close one, as another honoury driver of the CVR(T)
AKA Scimitar, I'll will be keeping the money in the bank. for the next time maybe.
It would have made a lovely model to accompany the Chieftain.
Good luck to all the other voters with favourite still in the running.

Re: 2024 Armortek Kit Survey
How can the M1A1 not even be in the top 3, there has got to be more of those produced now than any other tank on the the list if I recall correctly. Man, I really want one. It’s the only reason I didn’t put a deposit on the leopard.

Re: 2024 Armortek Kit Survey
Ah gents... modern armor is so droll! I know I'm likely to get flames and or hate mail for this one but,
They all look the same, have similar capabilities, similar main guns; there are few revelations in modern armor; they're
efficient, powerful, the results of much the same studies and so terribly boring.
Take heart, I'm sure your favorite modern tank will make it into a kit box soon...
