All, Elevation works great until I put the barrel on. Works great when lowering the barrel but to raise the barrel it does not work at all...
Any suggestions........
Thanks Tom

Re: King Tiger 2019 Evaluation Assembly Issue
I’m no expert but from memory there has been numerous posts concerning the size of the counterbalance to address this issue from the experienced builders.

Re: King Tiger 2019 Evaluation Assembly Issue
Look at the worm/screw drive to make certain it isn't binding. I found mine was somewhat. Truth be told that the small elevation unit is
challenged by raising that ginormous barrel but it can do it (see my construction thread) though I expect an eventual failure there. I've considered
replacing the elevation motor to a stronger version. Certainly a heavier counterweight would also make the OEM unit's task a little easier but I
didn't want to make either a new steel weight or cast a lead (Pb) weight.
Besides examining the elevation unit function a good quality slippery, 'sticky' grease judiciously applied to the screw and ends won't hurt either;
just don't slop it everywhere...
Future possible ongoing maintenance of the turret's mechanics is why I decided to make the roof removable.

Re: King Tiger 2019 Evaluation Assembly Issue
Thanks, worked on it last night...Took the evaluation assembly apart and started polishing the surfaces and rebuild the parts. Added some drops of oil.
The motor is now able to raised the barrel slowly..
