Dig For Victory Show - Wraxall

Post by Adrian Harris »

Another enjoyable summer event.

Thanks to the quick supply of spare parts, I was able to get my King Tiger running again with a new driven gear, and David was able to get his Panther going with a new motor coupling. Also interesting to see Paul's JagdTiger running with it's new custom built motion pack, which Reilly spent the weekend attempting to test to destruction   Watch out for an upcoming piece in Classic Military Vehicles

We weren't allowed a trench at this show, so had to make do with some imported soil and logs. Made for a tricky climb for the smaller tanks, and gave Geoff hours of fun putting back together with his scratch built Dozer.

A view of our pitch, in a prime location right next to the entrance.

Forties dress was on display throughout the show - with several stalls selling it.

One of the few venues where you'll find a Sherman being driven as an 18yo trooper would have done. The radial engine (it's a French M4A4T) made a glorious noise at full chat. I took the opportunity to take a quick Mini-Me picture between displays.

We camped near Minehead on the Sunday night, and I took the oppoortunity to take the Centurion BARV down to Dunster Beach for a quick run around the shoreline, where it managed to pick up some authentic seaweed. And yes Denny, it did get wet 8) 8)

Thanks to Denny for the organisation, Shirley for the cakes, Geoff for the ice creams and everyone for the banter :D

A few videos šŸ˜³

The new (non Armortek) gearbox and drive system held up extremely well and we tried out best to break it, but couldnā€™t.

Was a great Saturday shame we had other things on on Sunday.
Jagdtiger 2020 number 40. With Gun Smoke, CO2 recoil and Driving on custom Brushless motors.
Leopard ā€œ The Bearā€ build with a difference. Big power for good reason.
222 scout car
