Work commitments prevent my son attending Tankfest on Saturday, as it’s completely sold out does anyone want the ticket at face value. I presume I can just email it to you .

Mick
I’ll take this as we need 2 passes and only 1 is available from Armortek, unless Monique can pull something off.
Pm me with cost/details.

When we get on site tomorrow, do we blag our way in then collect wrist bands from Kian?

Really good turnout yesterday at TankFest and the best running area we've had over many years. Thanks Kian for a great day out with the community. Good to have SAG alongside too.

I was lucky enough to spend many hours watching all these fabulous models yesterday and enjoyed every minute. Congrats to all concerned and looking forward to next years show already.

Back home after dropping off everything at the factory.

It is fair to say that for me this has been the most enjoyable Tankfest to date. I attribute a large degree of that to all those of you that came along, provided the entertainment and helped out over the weekend - so many thanks to you (and if any of you missed out on a flyer or two, let me know). Of course it also helped that this was the best running area that we could have had - on the grass, a nice and large area and in a great location.

I would also like to thank Dennis and Brain from SAG for coming to the rescue with additional wristbands for us, and it was great that we could combine our running areas to give an even better experience to the general public (and of course to the people driving the models around).

Look forward to seeing everyone's photos of the event.

Pictures to follow but to sum up what turned out to be an epic weekend after starting at a low ebb. I came to Tankfest to get help with my ailing Hetzer and, as I expected, the bush on the right sprocket let go on the first turn on the grass as I got into the enclosure. I broke out the torque wrench and did it back up to get it parked. Then the most unexpected, I got it moving to bring it over to Kian to demonstrate the problem and replace the bush but nothing happened. I don't know what I did different from the other ten or so times I did up the bush at home but this time it bound and it stayed that way all weekend, result!
So for the rest of the weekend it ran and ran, with just a thrown track on Saturday at the close of play to deal with. Sure half the bolts vibrated loose and I have a slipping idler to deal with but compared with what I was expecting that's nothing. So a big thanks to Kian for being ready to assist and having Chris Fry's sprocket tool at hand, maybe just the presence of so many of it's bretheren made the Hetzer want to work 8)
Great to meet everyone again and be particiapating rather than just taking pictures, the LiPO4 battery was a revelation with it only dropping to 50% at the end of three days of regular running, something I could only dream about with the Mark IV.
The Hetzer did indeed Hetz :)

After the debacle that was TankFest 2022 (best forgotten ) this one was great ! A huge running area, and good weather throughout (albeit a tad warm at times ).

Thanks are due to Kian, of course, for throwing the whole gig, and providing the sugar-free Cokes (which I wouldn’t normally touch with a barge pole, but any liquid was good in that heat). Pete Nash for bringing the burner (for tea, also much needed) and the generator ( for all those still running lead acid ). Dave Dibb for the Friday ice cream run, and his stunning 1/6 scale workshop. And everyone else just for being there, throwing around ribald comments and generally making it a good time.

Best wishes,

Chris

PS. Please let Kian know if you didn’t get one of his new flyers - I’m sure it was just a mistake ….

Hi all,
Had a superb weekend at Tankfest 23. Really enjoyed talking to all members with or without AT Tanks.
In a nice subtropical running area it was the first time in front of a large number 1/6 tanks show of my AT SDKFZ 251. Running nice on the high grass without any problems for two days. The running area was perfect in size. Thanks to Kian and SAG to have one running area. There was for all of us enough space to drive.
A big tank you to you all who made a superb meeting, hope to join you again in 2025.
Kind regards Kees
