Question for those using Daves replacement track pins

Hi Guys
I am about to start building my tracks and I am wondering when fitting the nuts
did you put on the nut and add locktite to the end of the thread, or did
you put the locktite on the thread and then add the nut as normal.
I am concerned about gumming up the track links if the locktite gets in between the pin and the link.

Any ideas greatly received

Regards

Derek

I assembled the tracks and then used a small drop of wicking super glue on the nut. I had no problems with the the actual tracks getting stuck.

I have subsequently discovered that the nuts can be relatively easily, but not so easy, be able to be undone as well for track removal.

Good afternoon All,

I am putting together the tracks for my UC and found that I have a pronounced curve to the tracks which looking at the links seems to be down to the hole alignment. Has anyone else come across this and how have you got over this issue? will running the tracks like this cause any other issues with wear?

Best regards

Dave B

Hi Dave
Yes I have the same problem with a curve and a corkscrew effect down the length of the track and it caused the tracks to lift off the idler.
I am going back to the split pins I have opened up my holes to get a bit more slop in the track and hope this will help.
The hole drilling is very random putting it politely.
I think its a wide spread issue from talking to others.

Regards

Derek

I have been using the split pins as supplied and have run for many hours and no problems.
