Sorry to rehash an old topic, however... I'm looking to find a source of suitable chain for the bogie lift mechanism. As most of the mentions
of this are quite a few years old now I felt I should ask.

I've begun to look over the Flak 36 I'd purchased earlier in the year to refresh it an do some detail work.

I had thought I'd found a suitable chain based on measurements I made however when the chain arrived I found enough inconsistencies with the link widths that they don't fit in the recesses on the drums. Instead of buying more chains as a shot in the dark I wanted to ask here first if any one has
a positive source for properly fitting chain who sells over the web. I'd appreciate a direct product link if possible.

Not sure of the size of chain you'll need but they have specs and cad drawings for every size and shape of chain. Hopefully they will have one you can use; I can spend a lot of time on that site browsing for things I don't really need.

Thanks, I believe I did look there early on. I agree McMaster-Carr is a source for many an odd bit and nut but unfortunately they don't seem to have chain
small enough to work. Hobby type chains are usually too small; jewelry types, at least stainless steel types sold for that purpose are usually off as well.

As best as I can determine the overall outside link length should be ~8mm max and outside width of 5.5mm max; I'm citing this from memory of the last time I measured it. It seems a difficult size to find and one needs to take care when ordering (as I've found) since most places list their chain sizes
from the perspective in inside link dimensions. I believe this bit me the first time I ordered chain...

I tried searching eBay for "craft chain links" in the size you're looking for and came up with this:

Thanks, I found some plain steel version that would appear similar to the ebay item. It so happened to be on Amazon. I would have preferred welded or braked ends but I can't be too choosy I guess. I'll see if this latest version works better. At least this one should get me closer...

I think many will be interested in it.
my 88flak is still waiting to be painted. build that. and improving it was very demanding.

As promised here are a few photos. A few fasteners original to the model are missing and it's pretty much as delivered.
I focused on the SdKfz7 that it came with so I've spent 0 time on this until now. I've been attempting to find out what
parts Tim Catton still is still able to provide but he's been busy elsewhere so it's been slow going. I'm ready to devote
more attention to this machine.

Together the '88' and the SdKfz 7 are quite impressive but together they impressively long and unwieldy as well...

I will. There is a lot to do however I'm happy to have this. I'll do a little at a time between other projects.The model is surprisingly heavy.

I need to repaint it, that's for certain. I wish to add more detail to it however these detail parts are tricky to find. I did also receive several
88 'rounds', crates. Some of the dummy cartridges are resin, some metal.
