This has just popped into my Inbox. It's very expensive, but it could have some useful information in it:

https://www.panzerwrecks.com/product/th ... r-of-1944/

And no, I'm not on commission . But, if anyone gets it, I'm sure we'd all be glad of a review .........

All the best,

Chris

Although, from a quick Google search, Panthers in 15 Armee would appear to be mainly Ausf. A's ............ :-|

The vast majority of Panther that served in Normandy were Ausf A, some Panzer divisions only fielded the Ausf A. The Ausf G was a new tank so was there are slim pickings during this period.

Italy again from what I can remember was only Ausf A I would have to check to see if they received any Ausf G.

5th SS Wiking again only ever fielded Ausf D and Ausf A they never operated any Ausf G.

There were definitely a number of Panther G's in Italy, from early G's to later tanks.

Cheers,

Alex

After checking Italienfeldzug Vol 2. 1./Pz.Regt.4 were the only Panther Abteilung in Italy LAH pulled their Panther Abteilung out before fighting commenced.

1./Pz.Regt.4 was mainly equipped with Ausf A but after heavy losses thy received in 3 batches of replacement's totalling 68 Panther between June and November 1944 this was a mixed batch of Panther Ausf A and G the latest batch of Ausf G they received was from late September to early October.
