6th Scale Icons Inc Product Kits and Soldering

I have been asked about my kits and if they require soldering. In some cases parts require soldering for added strength, but they can in most cases be glued together using a good metal epoxy glue.
I do recommended that all brass tool and accessory clamps, brackets and fittings be soldered at the fold lines to add strength to them, but it is not necessary. These can be glued to give extra support or left as they are. Were soldering or gluing is required it is mentioned in the instructions.
Here is a list of products in kit form that need soldering or gluing. All these items are soldered if you order them assembled.
TT24 Tiger 1 Rear Mudguards Early Type
TT25 Tiger 1 Rear Mudguards Late Type
TT27 Tiger 1 Engine Grill Covers Set of 4
TT32 Tiger 1 Turret Stowage Bin
Pan16 Panther Cleaning Rod Canister Upgrade
Pan21a Panther Exhaust Fan Grills and Covers Deluxe Set
Pan22a Panther Engine Intake Grills and Covers Deluxe Set
PAN24 Panther Cupola (undecided on this until I finish the interior photo-etched parts)
PZIVT017 Cleaning Rod Set working C/rods (4 Rods) (PZIV Ausf H-J, JPZ & Stug IV)
PZIVT018 Jack Set (Panzer IV Ausf A-G)
PZIVT019 Jack Set (Panzer IV Ausf G-J, JPZ & Stug IV.)
GENT002 Fire Extinguisher Set (Late Type)
GENT006S Stowage Bin and Tool Box Catches Small Set of 4
Gent020 2 Padlocks
Gent026A Kettenkrad Rear Rifle Rack Set
Gent026B Rifle Rack With Stock/Butt Holder
SD250-04 Jack Block
SD250-08 Grill Covers Pair
SD250-20 Sternantenna D and Mounting Box
This is only 19 sets out of over 200 products that I offer.
All other items are assembled by screws, nuts and bolts, a few require gluing. In most cases gluing is required where joining white metal to white metal or brass. White metal can be soldered using white metal "Solder It", but is very tricky and a big risk of melting the parts.
While on the subject of kits, some of the kits I offer do not have assembly instructions, they are either very simple to assemble and do not require instructions or I have not had enough time to write the instructions or enough sales of the kit to make it worth my time.
If you plan on ordering any products in kit form enquire as to what is required before ordering, this way there are no surprises.
To date with sales of thousands of parts and kits I have not had anyone contact me with a problem as far as I can remember.
Regards
Mike
