Southern armour group

Hi,
I really want to be involved with some events such as taking the Tiger to places like Bovington and Nothe forte.
Is there anyone that can help me to join the SAG as I’ve not had much luck so far despite trying and waiting patiently for a good month or more.

Hello Matt,
Send a PM to Dennis Jones who does visit this forum and in the meantime I will send him a private email. I don't understand how you have spent a month trying to join. We also have a Facebook group which is run by Brian Bush and David Nadin. This is a busy month since we are attending the model show at Bovington this coming weekend and Tiger Day next. With the Armortek Owners having difficulty drumming up support SAG is the way to go. It is understandable uptake is waning with the rising costs of fuel and these being 1 day events, long days and the schools going back.

Would also like to join the SAG if the electronics ever turn up for my Churchill.

Yes Steve,
This is why you need more than one tank.
I too am waiting for the Churchill electronics but in the meantime I am building a Panther G and have the King Tiger 008 to run. Joys of being Retired and Single.

Also with the FB group anything I post always comes up as pending. It’s frustrating as I have a lot to offer but just can’t get any response.

Perhaps you can tell us what it is that you offer ? The Armortek fraternity, SAG, in fact every club that has ever existed, survives on the principle that ‘95% of the work is done by 5% of the people’. Another willing volunteer with useful skills is always welcome !

Hi Chris,
Well if you ever wanted to create a website for the group I can certainly help.
Although based in Suffolk I will always endeavour to try to attend most events, work allowing. I guess what I’m saying is that I like to get stuck in. I’m very new to tanks though not radio control.

Well, l received a spectrum dx6e today ready for when the electrics turn up. Got to page 2 of the instruction manual for programming and head totally fried. l dont have a problem with the build or wiring but programming this thing is a whole new ball game. Think l may be asking for a lot of advice on here so please bear with me if l ask a lot of silly questions but what is staightforward to experienced members on here is all new to me. You're right Will l should have more than 1 but l couldn't afford the divorce that went with it!

Hi Steve,
Phew, dodged a bullet with that one. Unfortunately <sic> I am a Futaba user. There is a lot of information and tips in the Knowledge base for programming a Spectrum. Basically - You just need to edit the manual to read turret rotation instead of aileron and gun elevation instead of elevator. Or simply bin the manual altogether and just experiment. This is why it is called a hobby and not a vocation. Enjoy yourself !
