Sabertooth driving curves

Post by Paul Sparkes »

On the Jagdtiger I am not using the Armortek motion pack for various reasons, mainly as I wanted different recoil, elevation and slew. this left only drive to deal with. I had a Sabertooth 2x32 in a spare tank so installed it into the Jag.
I can get drive and it now quite smooth but its not right, I have played a lot with settings and just not getting it any better. Does anyone have experience with driving curves and maybe a screen shot of a nice driving curve that I can base mine from.
Jagdtiger 2020 number 40. With Gun Smoke, CO2 recoil and Driving on custom Brushless motors.
Leopard “ The Bear” build with a difference. Big power for good reason.

I've found when playing with curves is that they limit the power at the low range, so the tank tends to do nothing until a certain point, when the motors suddenly jump into life, making for a very jerky response.

I found adding around 2 to 3 seconds of SlowUp and SlowDown on the mixes has made it better, but still find driving with a fairly linear response is easier than adding curves or exponential. It does mean the tank won't stop suddenly, so think ahead when driving
