There are a few events coming up, in and around the West Country, if anyone in the area is interested in joining us.

West Country WARAG. 28th/29th May. Westonzoyland Airfield, TA7 0JS

https://www.warag.co.uk

A nice friendly show with agricultural and military vehicles, classic cars and trucks, vintage planes.
Have been promised some earthworks to play around on. Other than that its a large grassed area.

We will be in one of the seafront lawns, with views out over the beach and a perfect view of the air displays.

So that's Weston WARAG done for another year.

Tanks arrived by van...

... trailer ...

... and car

All started out as Armortek kits, except for Geoff's wonderful scratch built dozer.

A lovely big pitch in which to drive around - our largest yet at this show. A few of the usual suspects were missing this time around
but I think the five of us managed to put on a decent showing.

The organizers brought in a digger to create some earthworks. We started small but now we know what the tanks can handle,
we have been promised a recreation of the Somme next year 8)

Good for getting those all important action shots:

Also great fun filling it in...

and emptying it out again...

It's a lovely venue, with lots to see, from bric-a-brac stalls to traction engines, lots of military trucks and armour and a field full of re-enactors.
Think TankFest about ten years ago. Apart from the traction engines

Thanks to Denny for the organisation and lodgings, David and Steve, Fiona and Shirley for the supply of scorch and scoff throughout the weekend.

Home from the Rainscombe Country Show, a new venue for us.

Very helpful organisers, who provided a trench for us to muck about in

Very stony ground, so a few broken track links and near misses :?

Our pitch for the weekend:

Armour vs Racing Mowers. They were a friendly bunch and gave our pitch a quick haircut for us:

Big Boys Toys - with an even Bigger Toy for company:

Thanks again to Denny for organising, Shirley for the cakes and the usual suspects for the company, banter and brews.

Our pitch on the seafront for the Weston Air Festival.

Loads of room to run around and a very appreciative audience.

Thanjs again to Denny for the organisation, Shirley for the cake and the guys for the company. One sharp shower but good sunny weather for the rest of the weekend.

More photos to follow once I've charged the phone.

A quick panorama of our view of the show, with David Battson running his amazing Armortek 'Toon' Comet

A little bit of track bashing, in more ways than one. Just goes to show hedgehogs can even immobilise a King Tiger.

And this one had never been primed, or lubricated, in 14 years of running...

Always pays to arrive early, beat the crowds and get the best spot...

Another Somerset show completed. This time at Norton Fitzwarren for the West Somerset Railway Association.

Our pitch for the weekend.

20220807_125151.jpg

20220807_125224.jpg

A very large show, with steam and stationary engines, classic cars, bikes and tractors, military vehicles and lots more.

Had some very interesting chats with the MV owners, including one who has what sounds like a full house of CVR(T) vehicles.
He is looking to downsize and felt that an Armortek model from the CVR(T) range would be the perfect replacement

Thanks once again to Denny for the organisation, Shirley for the cake and the guys for the company and assistance.

Adrian.
