Tiger 1 , PzIII and Panther new parts
Hi All,
I am turning my attention back to individual parts for a little while and the first part we are doing is the Tiger 1 starting handle. I have been asked about the Tiger 1 escape hatch more times than I can remember so that will probably be next.
Are there any particular Tiger parts people would like to see available? No promises but we will consider suggestions.
Best regards
Dave

Re: Tiger 1 parts
Front and rear mudguard sets, plus the photo-etched engine grill covers.
Mudguards get bashed around if you use the tanks, so it would be handy to have a local supply to replace them.

Re: Tiger 1 parts
Hi Dave
This is good news. Is the crank turned ally or white metal? I love your clamp kits. For Tiger parts I know the loader hatch is one (late vs early) and also the rear bin. Mike S kit bin is nice - but a daunting kit. It would be nice for an interim solution (ie better than kit bin, but perhaps not $500 kit from "vendor to not be named"). Even an upgrade kit to the kit supplied bin would welcome. Its a rather large undertaking.
For Panther parts - it would be nice to have a photo etch sheet of the chain wrap on the gun travel lock. I can make everything else, but the tiny links are pain to machine. I've tried to get the complete travel lock from Steve W but no luck yet.
Best regards,
Bob

Re: Tiger 1 parts
Hi Robert/Adrian,
These are the masters, handle parts will be White metal cast once moulds are done. I do both the late and 40mm loaders hatch already so may take a look at the early hatch.
Not sure on the PE bits for now as already have a backlog of stuff like the stencils waiting for Phototools but will keep them in mind for the future. I'll need to get a look at the bin and see what we can do but thinking of smaller easy win stuff to start with.
Cheers
Dave

Re: Tiger 1, PIII, and Panther new parts
Hi All,
I have added the Panther Track tensioner and Panther Starting handle to the parts going on the new mould. I haven't yet fixed the aluminium ends to the brass centre on the Panther starter as although scaled from pics and drawings I could really do with the centre to centre dimension shown in the pic to ensure it will fit the Armortek frames. If anyone can provide this it would be much appreciated.
Best regards
Dave

Re: Tiger 1 , PzIII and Panther new parts
Hi All,
First of our new German tank tools now moulded and ready to start production. Prices and details will be added to the website later this week time permitting. Panther starter has been done to suit the Armortek rack.
Kian has kindly loaned me a Tiger Turret bin so going to have a look at how we could do an add on kit for it. More Tiger parts to come in 2022.
We will be closing for at least 3 weeks at Christmas and w/c 13th December will be our last production week before the New Year.
Best regards
Dave

Re: Tiger 1 , PzIII and Panther new parts
Hi All,
Happy New Year to you all. I'm on a bit of a master making roll at the moment so using some of my time off to beef up our offerings.
Latest creations are the tool box for the front mudguard on the PIII, Rear engine cover hinges for the PIII and Stug III (Werkstatt 5 already do the larger front access cover ones.) and Tiger 1 Turret bin catches. I am working on the cleaning rod brackets for the PIII and also the Track tool box found on the PIII, Stug and Tiger 1. This tool box may need a scale and semi scale version as we don't have the gap we need between the rear vents on the Stug.
We are also in discussion with Werkstatt 5 on some collaborative items and we will give more details once we have finalised plans. Marks excellent brass castings of our Tiger 1 front hatch hinges will be standard now on all future sets and when I get them done we will be have part metal part clear resin periscopes.
Metal and brass prices have continued to climb and our metal cost are now up by over 40%. We are going to have start applying some of this increase to our prices and I will be updating our price list over the next few weeks. To be fair we don't increase our prices often and its only due to material costs we are having to do it now. Resin at present is unaffected so it will not be right across the board.
Best regards
Dave

Re: Tiger 1 , PzIII and Panther new parts
Hi All,
I have started modifying the Tiger Periscope to finish the update to the Tiger Driver and Radio Operator hatches. I still have to recess the mounting indicated by the black rectangle but once done we will make a new mould along with some of the other recent parts. The plan is to then cast the top and bottom part of the periscope in clear resin. The new sets will have the Werkstatt 5 brass hinges as standard too.
Best regards,
Dave
