Universal carrier No. 86

Post by Malcolm Lambart »

Hi, just got on the forum and would like to say hello. I have started my build a few weeks ago and if I run into any issues I hope I can find help here. Here is a few pictures of what I have been making for the rad area as it was a little plain.

Been a while since I the chance to work on the carrier and impossible over the winter, too cold in my shed. I have done a lot and here is a few pictures of mods, I have tapped the holes for the engine hatches so now removable for servicing things, then made some handles out of sheet brass. I then did a lot of work to the battery box, I trimmed and filled the box and lid. Next I make a couple of fake 6-volt batteries to go inside. One thing I could do with help is with the paint, I'm using Olive drab matt engine enamel and spraying with a airbrush. The problem is it marks easily a bit too much, it there anything I can do to to make it less mark able.

Hi Malcolm
Looks very nice.
Go over the matt paint with a satin varnish spray.
Just check compatability first on a test part.
