Re: Jagdtiger No.41 in Germany
Hi Folks,
I finished the travellock A-Frame with some weldings. I also worked on the drivers hatch and noticed some differences with the original. So I made some CAD work to compare the measures and shapes from the original blueprints and images of 331 in the states. I decited to rebuild the complete frontplate with the gearplate and the two hatches. Next step is to build the bolts and some other details. More to come....

Re: Jagdtiger No.41 in Germany
Last days I build all the boltscrew imitations from brass. The hatches get angled edges, lifting hooks and the hatchstopper are also done. I rebuild the drivers scopeholder from original blueprints. Next step is the turning part of the scopeholder and the cover above it.

Few Details completed, the hatches are nearly ready. I added the Handle, the Castlenuts of the Hatch and reshaped the little Dome over the swing axle.
The parts of the cleaning rod holder are finished and today I milled some parts of the ropeholders.
I also recieved some great parts made by John Fitzsimons.

Re: Jagdtiger No.41 in Germany
Last Weekend I do some brasswork. I rebuild the front Mudguards for more scale-look. Unbelivable how much parts and work only such a single Mudguard is. I also think at the production line in wartime, what a waste of time and energy to produce such a complicate part that mostly fast ragged down in action.

I finished some small details last days. Very timeconsuming but not much to see.

Re: Jagdtiger No.41 in Germany
Hi all,
I finally installed the Battery and started wiring. In the left: Relais to switch the Mainsystem on/off, above the MiniMKS Multiswitch and the Jeti Reciever, above is the fuse and 2 voltage Transformer (6V to Reciever and 12V to Soundmudule). On the right side is the charging switch, the main battery cut off switch and the 26V dividerpins.
And a small Video from first Jagdtiger steps outside
regards
Sascha

Re: Jagdtiger No.41 in Germany
Wiring is almost complete, all systems work fine. I also installed the Compressor and the valve including the pressure pipes. A Video of the Gun recoil is following soon.

Nice Jagdtiger. Love the internal system work.
Everyone, if you have not been to Sascha's Submarine Website you NEED to take a few minutes and visit it.
https://pressluftjunkies.de/
I also enjoy German subs. Over the last 70 years I've had the pleasure of visiting the U-505 in Chicago around 5 times. Have several sub kits being built and several still boxed waiting to go. Sorry, to say mine will only be able to dive once, then sit on the bottom.
Enjoy both worlds.
Enjoy the Builds

Re: Jagdtiger No.41 in Germany
I added a few new Details. The Scherenfehrnrohr hatch is nearly ready, the sealing follows after paintwork. I also finished the Antennabase and the Antenna. Also the ropholders are finished. At least I made a red indicator light if the Battery is in charging mode.

Re: Jagdtiger No.41 in Germany
My new Pages are online now, it was a lot of recherche work to do, especially researching the way of 331. But It is also a lot of work to do and not all articels are translated yet. If someone of you have any missing Information ( chassis numbers/tactical numbers...), feel free to contact me.
The next articel will be a "Now and Then" in Neustadt from the last days of 331 and the Time between 1945 and 2024.
Enjoy!
