Gun mount and gun sleeve screw up issue (Already solved)

Hi all Jagdtiger builders,

As per Building Instructions Figure 27 Gun Assembly Note 2, Gun Mount(CT0402) is screwing up with Gun Sleeve(CT0404):

While doing so as firmly as I could, I ended up with about 1cm mis-alignment between them :

Don't want to unwisely trying further and damage the four pitched holes on the Gun Sleeve for two Elevation Pivots(CT0411). Now I can't screwing neither forward (clockwise) nor backward (anti-clockwise) to align them with each other.

There must be a proper way of doing the job. Can any of you experienced builder share your knowledge please?

Chang I don't have the model, I had a similar problem with Chieftain hubs not fitting flush.
First make sure both pieces are clean and no debris on the inside tread a little lubricant might help and try again. If still a problem it looks as though the thread of CT0404 is bottoming out (running out of thread) out on CT0402. Try removing a little off the threaded end of CT0404 depending on thread pitch (0.25-1.0mm) this would allow a little more turning of CT0404 into CT0402.

Hi Chang, Couple of things you can try to get the parts loose - (a) soak them in WD40 for a couple of days and/or (b) put them in the freezer for a couple of days.

Once you have the parts separated, you do not need to screw CT0402 all the way on CT0404 - you need to leave the parts a little loose otherwise CT0407 will be pulled too tight on to CT0150.

Thanks John and Kian for the advices. Now I need to un-screw CT0404 a little, only wish not to cause any damage as they are deadly tight now.

I was firstly screwing them together with perfect alignment exactly as Kian's saying ---with a little loose--- . Only found the Recoil Bush A (CT0403) inside the Gun Mount (CT0402) with a very small (say less 1mm) movable gap, which I thought should be eliminated by screwing CT0402 and CT0404 a little further. That was an over-perfectionist's error.
