I started my Panzer III build about a month ago. I have found the other threads very useful, so I figured I would start my own.
I have already completed the hull and running gear.

Looks like you're getting on well with it Les :D

Funny how there's tank parts all over people's floors all over the place !

Adrian.

No, but she claimed the box as hers. Her observation point to see what this is all about.

I spent the morning building hubcaps.
The rivets are too long, and protrude out of the back of the hubcap.
This was the same situation I had with the Roller assembly hubcaps. For the roller assembly, I glued the rivets in, let them dry, and filed the back flat.
For the Road Wheel hubcaps, I cut he rivets down to a size that doesn't protrude out the back
Now, when the glue dries; all I need to do is screw them on. I figured by building them this way I don't need extra filing on the back and the possibility of screwing up the threads.

I just Bench Tested the motors and sound system.
I'm using a Spektrum DX8 Transmitter with a AR8010T Receiver.
I set it up for single stick control using instructions I found in this forum.
Initially, I had the yellow wires going to the red marked terminals on the motors and the Blue to the unmarked.
The motors ran in the opposite direction of what they should have. I switched the connections on each motor and they now go forward when i push the stick forward.
The audio works correctly for sounds 1-8 of the audio Module using the gear switch "B".
Everything now works correctly.
I really couldn't be happier with the way it came out.

I hope the Turret turn and elevation are as easy to implement.

The Panzer III is essentially done.
The Motion and sound modules are installed and operational.
I just have some details to add (Tow ropes, lights, etc.)

Always nice to read about how people solved all the small things.
