DB Late tiger refurbish
Hi,
2007 is when it all happened at the Armortek factory a giant leap forward in the way tigers were manufactured, new tracks, new turret wrap new suspension, three piece sprockets with steel rings the list goes on.
This particular model had been sitting in a shed for I would say most of its life, used in the mud then left wet, not ideal!
It was a real work up to get it back to a standard I was happy with the hull fit kept me busy for a while.

And some more in no particular order - lowered rear deck and deck supports in place also exhaust studs - hoping to receive Steve Winstone Tiger bumpstops and headlight soon

Remarkable transformation. You're getting quite good at these salvage projects. I need to lower my rear plate height as well - but the hull is assembled. Perhaps light cuts with a router will do it. I've seen others cut it down that way. Looking great!
Love to see them resurrected.

Re: Late tiger refurbish
Thanks Bob
I would clamp a steel strip on each side of the rear plate and use edge as a cutting line for a dremel disk or small angle grinder, allow for some adjustments with a file.

Re: Late tiger refurbish
Thanks David,
I'm afraid my Dremel is old and way too wimpy for this task. I do have an angle grinder tho - that's another option. All the best - keep posting progress on Tiger and Jagdpanther - both are looking fantastic esp with Steves' bump stops.
Best,
Bob

Hi David,
I really like your restored 2007 Tiger 1. From the last photo of your 20 Dec 2020 thread, 12 small square washers to fix two Exhaust shields can be seen :
Can you tell me their thickness ?
Regards,
Lerh Chang

Thanks Chang
They are armortek square head! Same as the ones that run down the sides.
This tiger will not have the heat sheilds fitted
Cheers

I have recently acquired a 2007 late type Tiger 1, found 32 pcs of CE0363 are such square washer included, after reading your answer.
Also like your way to screw the two bulkheads (CE0131 & CE0164, deck supports) with the hull's side panels, instead of the upper deck, which you have cut into two pieces. I think both modifications made all following works easier.
Keep up good works, and stay safe.

Re: Late tiger refurbish
Hi,
I had a spare bag of square stand offs that I used on the back
The rear deck support has been slightly modified to accept the lowered rear section
Thanks

Re: Late tiger refurbish
Hi All,
Not to much going on with this build as I've been focusing my efforts on some of my other models, but I have been collecting some very nice upgrade parts, one of which is a superb Fiefel Plate from Steve Winstone - now this is the kind of part I like! no drilling, filling or sanding, just tighten up six fasteners.
Regards
David
