Simon's Famo saga.
The First post of my Famo Build, i never build two kit's at a time but in this case there's lot's of similarities and dual construction tasks with the sdkfz 7, ie, Headlight's, Grill, Running Gear etc. and overall details, The Main difference is the size, the Famo is HUGH!. REGARDS SIMON.

Really cool Simon, you're building FAMO and SDKFZ 7. Phil W can build three or four models at a time, so we need to raise the bar. Perhaps he has more worker elves that can work round the clock. FAMO is great model, will be interesting to see what you do on this one.
Best regards,
Bob

Hi Simon,
I know you are not gonna miss-out the 18 tonnes FAMO after building the Sd Kfz 7 8-tonnes Halbkettenfahrzeug.
Will the Notek front light also be installed on the FAMO?
Regards,
Lerh Chang

Hi Simon,
It looks the work bench is not long enough for FAMO.

Re: Simon's Famo saga.
Evening all, it was a year ago i posted anything on my Famo, i have now decided to start the vehicle, There's only a small amount left on my 7, sewing jobs on the hood which my wife will do and stowage items to fit, It still amazes me the size difference between the two vehicles, Thanks for the posts a year ago, regards simon.

Well, that looks like it's going to be impressive. Take a comfortable seat with a pint of beer.

Re: Simon's Famo saga.
Thanks fellow builders for the good input, i Have been doing a little on my Famo, Wheels, on closer look there are two Rivet sizes, Larger on the outer edge, smaller nearer the center, also removing the Machine marks and a little reshaping, i try to do a wheel a day, then it's not so tedious, regards simon.

Re: Simon's Famo saga.
The Famo project has been slow to start, i have been re-working the Front wheel arches and the wheels, the wheel arches have a characteristic shape, more rounded much more like a bigger version of the sdkfz 7, there's plenty of metal to work with on the kit part. regards simon.

Re: Simon's Famo saga.
Good works Simon.
First of all, I like Armortek's FAMO very much.
Yet am I the only guy always wondering why wasn't this wheel arch (and the following side fenders alone the chassis) shaped by sheet metals (like the smaller Sd Kfz 7)? A lot of weights & works could be saved then.

Re: Simon's Famo saga.
I have been re working the wheels, a slow process, but have just finished the last one, a little texture to add and paint, i am glad that bits over, regards simon.
