Don´t ask me why it´s upside down again...

Looks more like a Cromwell or a Churchill with a Cromwell turret with the sort of finish after I've brush painted

According to Dick Taylor, there were three AFVs named Agamemnon during WW2. Given that the vehicle in question is neither a Sherman or a Universal Carrie, the only remaining possibility is that it is a Cromwell Mk IV, namely T187714, serving with 1 Troop, C Squadron, 2nd Northamptonshire Yeomanry, in 11 Armoured Division. I'm speaking to David Fletcher later and will relay any more info he may have.

These tanks are Cromwells of 2nd Northamptonshire Yeomanry and these pics, & the footage they come from, are very well known. The Zimmerit paste-looking stuff on these tanks is in fact Rubber Strips that were fitted, quite possibly in the field, in response to German Infantry use of Magnetic AT grenades (HHL-3 Hafthohlladung).

I've now had a chat with David Fletcher. He points out that 2nd Northants Yeomanry were the Div Recce Regiment for 11th Armd Div and as such needed the ability to produce effective camouflage for their vehicles. He says that the rubber applied to their vehicles was intended to help with securing foliage to the them and was not a response to German weapons. He believes that the British "Zimmeritt" was only ever applied to Churchills and that only as a trial. He's consulting another Cromwell expert to see if we can learn more. 2nd Northants were disbanded in Sep 1944.
