Anyone got a recommendation for a suitable British army green rattle can spray. I have this at the moment but I am not sure how close it is to the genuine colour.
- I have tried some on a test piece but would welcome other surgestions.
Regards
Steve

Steve, I’ve used these people a couple of times in the past.

They also make a NATO Green, which is what David used on the Bridgelayer and AVRE.
Looks OK from a distance:
But possibly doesn't look green enough close up:
And that's without knowing the paint used on the full sized vehicle, or how long it is since it was last painted.
The HMVF forum is a good place to browse for discussions on paint, though a lot of it seems to be WW2 rather than post war.
There's a link on this thread to a PDF all about the paints used post war:

Kevin, Adrian
Thanks for the reply.
I have been doing a bit of research using Dick Taylor’s “Warpaint” books and it would appear that the paint used from the early 1970,s was BS381c 285 NATO green. I will order up a rattle can from Paintsrus and see how it looks.
The main problem is going to be that without a vehicle to compare, any result I come up with will be purely subjective.
This is the book I got the paint spec from, I have a couple from the series and found them quite interesting although possibly a bit to deep for me (plenty of nice pictures in them if you don’t want to do to much reading)
- I have volumes 2 and 3, cannot remember why i didn’t get volume 1
