Hi everyone,
The subject part is a brass bush supplied as part of the Chieftain motor pack in which the output shaft of the motor resides in. On one side of the bush is a bevel, the other side is flat. The bush is mounted in the drive case capping plate...see drawing and picture below.
Does anybody know which way round the bush goes; does the bevelled edge go into the cap plate first or does it face the motor output shaft? Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks

Don't be stressed out in the installation direction.
In my case, I let the edge go inwards.

If I had to guess, I would say the bevel goes in the bottom of the pocket, in case there is any radius left from pocket machining process.

Re: Chieftain part CG0704
Many thanks for the replies.
I don't think a bevel would've been put on if there was no requirement for it and I can see three reasons why the bevel should face into the pocket of the cap which are:
a) as Adrian identified, excess radius in the pocket of the cap
b) as an aid to insertion to a recess
c) a run off area for excess loctite
So unless Armortek advise otherwise, the bevel is going into the pocket Heat gun is ready just in case!

Re: Chieftain part CG0704
Either way around will not make much difference Richard. The pocket are made using flat end mills, so there should not be an internal radius to worry about.
