electric problem with steering unit / servo

Hi all,
I have a problem with my steering Servo in the Famo. May anyone is having a solution.
So the Famo is working well an steering is perfekt if the sound is off.
If I switch the sound on, the steering Servo is doing his own thing, not like a signal problem, its like someone else is steering.
The base:
I use the Benedini TBS mini V2 with an Benedini amplifier and two speakers visaton 10mh.
the Servo is working with the receiver power suply (an 5A converter from the 24V accu). - I attemped it to drive the servo with an external accu. - the same problem.
What can the problem be? - I think its not a disorder from the controler. Its a 2,4ghz.
its like a system mistake between the Servo an the Sound module?!

Hi Florian
I don’t know what the rating of your steering servo is, put I’m assuming it’s high torque. You could be at the limit of your 5a converter, which will cause the voltage to drop, and cause the symptoms you are reporting. If you have a voltmeter, you could monitor the converter output with everything running and look for a voltage drop.
Is the converter a reputable make, or a cheap Chinese version. A lot of the cheaper ones do not maintain there output voltage where they are close to there maximum rating.

Hi Florian,
I suppose that is an interference problem. Probably Benedini uses a class D amplifier which produces some electrical interferences to the servo. Try a ferrite ring together with the servo cable. The DC-DC-converter is out of suspicion if an seperate akku for the servo shows the same result.

Thomas also does an audio isolator circuit which worked for me.

If trying the ferrite ring solution, please note slipping the cable just through it will not help. You need to feed the cable through, round the outside and then back through again.

The ferrit solution I will test soon.
The converter is an Chinees part, but in another modell (StuG 3) its working perfektly. also in my Sdfz251.
One of these converters I use is an 10Ah from 24 to 12V. Another one from 24 to 5V and 5Ah.
On the converter from 24-12V is the Benedini amplifier.
For testing I connected an seperate 10Ah converter on the Servo. - Having the same problem. - So I think its not an problem with the voltage.

Hello Florian!
You mentioned already in the first post that it does not look like interference. It is like someone else is steering. Does the steering channel pass through the sound module? If so, have you tried to bypass the steering module? Could it be that you are using the wrong output from the sound module?

The steering channel is seperate from the sound, no connection point.
I have an micro servo for the steering wheel with an Y-cabel with the steering channel connected. the micro servo is having no inteferences. however I see no intefeence on it.
