Does anyone have experience with the Model Sounds Inc Shockwave2 sound board ?

Wondering how it compares to the Benedini TBS Mini.

Adrian.

Hi Adrian,

unfortunately I didn' hear till now of this sound board (I prefer the versatile Beier USM-RC2). But I took a look at the home page and found a interesting module (SD card on board!) and a remarkable hint:

'When requesting sound clip samples, please send us a polite and courteous email with please, thank you, regards etc. and include your first and last names, how you heard of us and your location. We will ignore any requests that do not do this.'

What kinds of customers may they have..... :?:

Hi.
Could not get mine to work, but that might have just been me.

I don't suppose you know where the SD card went ?

I've been in contact with the company and they will sell me a new SD card but that, plus the cost of the software, is likely to be more that a Benedini board.

Adrian.

Hi Adrian,

I've used a shockwave sound board in my scratch built 1/6 M3A3 Stuart. The New shockwave 2 sound boards take a Kingston micro card and come with a bigger adaptor card for computer setup. The micro card I think are the same as the ones you can add to your smart phone for extra storage.

Hope that helps
Gary

Micro SD cards have a certain fault rate. The best memory goes into the solid state disks, the next one to the display cards, and the last one to the sticks and the SD cards. I'm using about 20 micro SD cards, and one of them was faulty till now. They also are very sensitive against bending, and some guys have killed them by simply inserting / removing.
