Armortek

Some images from the SW Model Show this last weekend. Thanks to all who attended and worked to put on a good show, our first venture into demonstrating models to the public. Three slots were well supported and the audience seemed to appreciate what we did and especially to hear our "media star" at work. Thanks to Chris for all you did to make it all happen. A very special thanks to Peter Quambusch for coming over from Germany with two outstanding and unusual models. I stole a couple of the images from Dave Dibb, hope you don't mind Dave and thanks for helping us. Having Armorpax and our area together worked to everyone's advantage.

It was surprisingly enjoyable, but lots of hard work .............

Thanks to the 'usual suspects' for bringing a varied and interesting range of Armortek's Finest, which gave us our theme of 'Tank Development over 50 years'. Peter Quambusch gets a definite Mention in Despatches for coming all the way from Germany with his superb Elefant and FlakPanther. I stepped up to do the basic commentary, although everyone chipped in, and Stephen stole the show with his practical demonstration of Vietnam Fire Control tactics.

The (numerous) Public seemed very impressed, so that was a result. I believe (hope) that Armortek have got at least two sales (a KT, and either a Chieftain or a PZ III) out of it - the chaps were very interested in all aspects of Armortek ownership, and they had the essential ingredient of supportive wives . The Bovington Events Team are pleased with us, which should guarantee us prime sites for future events (the running area for the other Clubs was a bit small, to say the least ). But most of all, we had fun doing it ! (although my throat will need time to recover from shouting over the noise from Denny's KT ).

The next one is Tiger Day, which I won't be at . So I'm throwing down the gauntlet for someone else to do the commentary - a specific knowledge of all marks of Tiger would help, which I don't have. But, mainly, it needs as many of you as possible to bring your toys out for a play at Bovington. How can you resist ?

Impressive line up gentlemen, nice to see such a variety, tells a story indeed, and nice to see one of my creations having an outing, I hope Peter drove it in scale ? ....Phil.

Pete, I've signed his F295 but if he doesn't return on time, it'll be an F252. S
