I am a complete novice when it comes to 6th scale builds so I will be learning as I go along.I used a Compact kit Pak 43 to get me into build mode.

I've had the Tiger kit for around 12 months but have been busy doing other stuff so have let it in till now to start.I needed to move stuff out of the way so I could get at the boxes. Plus I needed room to sort the bits I think I need to be going on with. I thought I'd start with just a quick clean up of the parts as I use them to remove the milling oil stains ECT. So I just used a sanding sponge wet.

Job done.... Hope you guys don't mind but I will have to lean on you for any tip and forgive me for any noob questions I may ask.

Once you start building the Tiger, you'll get the confidence up and probably sell one of those bikes to fund your new found addiction

The work on the Tiger has stalled slightly,I did mange to put the lower hull together just to satisfy the child in me.Im sure Kian has sent me a bigger tank than anybody else's.I don't remember the ones I saw at Tigerfest looking this big. Slightly off topic but may be of interest to some,the reason the Tank build has stalled is because I promised myself I would finish installing the motor in this... I hate with a passion working on cars,I use to love it.For info it's a 2009 Honda S2000 which I've owned for 10 years.Its been through various guises,380 hp with a Supercharger and with different setups 508 and lastly 550 hp turbo on a sick engine with severe piston slap.The motor in the Pic is a fully rebuilt forged engine Capable of around 1000-1200 hp.Ill only be running around 800hp which is around the best I can get with the current Turbo.

It's got all nice bits to go with the big power,Quaife sequential gearbox with straight cut gears and pneumatic paddle shift,big Cobra Mustand rear diff and big driveshafts brakes ECT.

I just feel I've grown out of the car because 550 hp was scary and I'm to old for scary.

I've done a little bit on the Tank,I needed to strip it to its component parts so a friend could take some measurements.He wants to build a Storm Tiger from scratch...After he has built his Elefant from scratch.

I've just countersunk some holes so I can fill and sand.them flush be for paint.Strange but at the moment I have to tear myself away from putting it together.

Don't worry - that is perfectly normal!

It's been a busy weekend on the Tiger front,I've managed to put the big bits together quite easily.I suspect that will change one I get to the smaller parts like the wheels ECT. I've started to put the suspension arms together,I cleaned up the threads and tapped them out.
A question I need to ask you experienced builders out there."how are the road wheels spaced from the hull",?
I'm guessing the brass bearings don't decide the right spacing as the are only glued in.Is it the torsion bar the trick to getting the spacing correct?
I've ordered some zimmerite tools from Fields of Armour,plus I really need to watch some video's on weathering.

Glen, you are progressing along quite quickly. You are going to have it finished in no time.

how are the road wheels spaced from the hull

This is also my first Armortek build so in a sense I am also a novice but this is what I did. The brass bushes are glued in the torsion bar. To ensure that the brass bushes were flush to the torsion bar when pushed in I did it on a surface plate. A thick glass plate or a granite slab from a kitchen top will also do. When eventually inserting the swing arm in the brass bushes make sure you push it in all the way in till you feel the swing arm hitting the brass bush. The rubber O ring will create some resistance so make sure that the swing arm is pushed all the way in. And this is how it should look when the swing arm is properly seated.

Thanks Vince,mine pretty much look like that but it's more by luck than judgment.I just put them in by feel.Now I know that ill have to knock them out and refit how you have done yours.

If the bushes are already glued and they look to be flush then I wouldn't bother to take them out again.

Thank you Brian,whilst I've got your attention.What angle did you set your suspension arms?Is the 30deg set in stone or is it variable?

I tried to get them about 30 degrees. I wasn’t very scientific about it just used a piece of paper cut out.

My lift table arrived today,it may be a bit overkill as it's a 500kg lift but the lift part was quite a bit bigger than the 150kg ones. My shed looks like a bomb has hit it but I set out with the best intentions to keep things tidy but it never works.I'm an untidy worker,no other way to describe it.I always have been.I doubt I'll change now. I'm not sure if I'll find room to fit the Hayabusa when my wife evicted it from her shed.

What are the dimensions of that lift table? I'm trying to decide between a couple right now, my P-III is pretty small (relatively) but the King Tiger I ordered has me thinking I may have to go really big.
