Introducing myself

Hello everyone,

I just purchased my first Armortek vehicle and look forward to the building process. I've gone through some posts already and am so impressed with the knowledge base that exists here. I already have so many ideas from many of you on how to add features or modify the build to make it even more realistic. Hopefully I get my kit late next week so I can start working on it over a nice, and rare, week break that I have over Christmas, but we'll see. Anyway, I'm sure you'll be hearing more from me.

Adam

Hi Adam. I'm a 'newbie' as well. Although I bought my Tiger in 2015 I've only just got round to starting the build, and I've already been helped out of a potential disaster by forum members lol.

Welcome Adam! You won't be disappointed with the PZ111 it's an amazing model that should be in everyone's armortek collection.

Take a look a Stephen White's build log and try and incorporate a few of his idea's /purchase some upgrade parts used budget permitting. I recommend all of Steve Winstone Panzer III upgrade parts.

Regards
David

Welcome aboard! Armortek makes great kits.

But what they have done better than anything... is bring together an amazing community of craftspeople! Whether it's an 'out of the box' kit... or a museum-quality build based off a core kit... this community has it all!

Look forward to seeing your first project! And your next... and your next... and your next...

Cheers,

RPR

HI adam

Can I add my welcome to the Armortek Fraternity.

I've nearly completed my own Panzer III and found it an enjoyable, and I must admit, at times a little on the frustrating side on a few rare occasions; but, that is what modelling is all about.

As for detailing, its YOUR model, go as far as YOU want, you can make a scale model, or a scale replica, its up to you. I tend to go in between the two and 'base' my tank on a photograph or two. Some tanks ere accessorised to the crews preferences so often two tanks were kitted out differently.
I based mine on the one in the tank Museum at Bovington.

On our side of the pond we have Armorpax, Armorpax.com that do accessories for a wide range of Tanks.
On your side there is Field of Armor that does the same. I have used both on my P III.

As a 'newbie to Armortek' I would offer one bit of advice. If things aren't going according to plan, and you have two choices, Go away. have a Beer/Whiskey/coffee (in that order) and come back a few hours later and a third, easier solution, will have occurred to you.

Best regards

Pete

Thanks for all the welcomes. I have certainly been eyeing Stephen's build page and will continue to read in my free time. I certainly plan on making this first model more of a learning tool to try different artistic techniques for building a replica. I will then carry those over to the next model. Or even modify this one later on if I'm in the mood. And not to worry, I have several 1:8 scale RC cars/truggies to take my frustration out on if it gets to that point.
