Sdkfz 7 Build

Hi,
Bought this model a few years back with the intention of adding some detail/finishing it off. With all this exciting Famo builds going on I thought i better get started.
Bonnet and side panels with detail fitted.
Thought I would be able to add rivet detail to panels in situ to save disturbing a virtually completed model...proved to be a little difficult
Panel removal uncovered a few little issues...not to mention the mess created removing layers of paint and filler.
3/64 Rivet detail in progress with handles and rivets soldered in place with 1/8 half round beading yet to be applied
Rear door detail along with spare tyre compartment to be cut
Regards
David

Hi,
Spare wheel compartment cut, not the easiest of jobs to do with no milling machine, but after a good few hours job was looking not too bad.

nothing more satisfying than grinding down a big lump of aluminium and then staring at the fileings on the floor, and feeling at one with model, you've just experienced a small outer body moment, see you in church sunday, regards simon

]Hi,
I decided to strip the chassis down and start again as some of the basics had not been covered that well.
- Parts in poor condition... flacky paint/rusty
- That's better, now ready for primer.
- Chassis getting a coat of paint after cleaning

David

Hi,
I'm glad to say the majority of the parts have now been prepared for assemble.
- A good source of information with lots of large colour photos can be a little hard to find these days
Thanks
