Re: New forum function - "Like" button
Sorry to say that, but for me it is useless and waste.
Luxury would be if a click on a link in this board will open the link in a new window and not the same window.

Have fun building, Kind regards

Luckily this can be very, very simply solved. Just CTRL-click (Mac users CMD-click that same link. And/or set it as a setting in your browser-settings.Christian Steinhauer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 15, 2018 12:53 pmSorry to say that, but for me it is useless and waste.

Great!
That way we can easily show our appreciation without bloating build logs unnecessarily.

Christoffer has hit it on the nail, it is a way of giving gentle and meaningful applause. There are many things that I follow, but either have no need or desire to comment on. Plus equally there are things that I post about that others will feel the same way about, now I hope, I can take heart that whilst unreplied to a post may well be appreciated once read.

Yes, you both hit the nailhead. That is the problem of today - no one takes the time to talk to each other,
or in this case "take the time to drop a line."
The basement of our knowledge and intelligence is communication and discussion. Also in our hobby, I think.
For me, to drop a line is more gentle and more honour of a build log and 100% more communicative.
Maybe these days I'm alone with my opinion.

Re: New forum function - "Like" button
Not at all... and a Like Button does not eliminate the ability or motivation to post a personal "atta-boy." Or follow-on questions, communications or personal Kudos.
But it can be nice to just acknowledge something you like quickly and without adding to the threads.
And... remember... you can do both!
Cheers,
RPR
