Sherman M4A1

Post by Jack Hrovatin »

Greetings: With the announcement of the M3 series of tanks, and the previous Welded Sherman tank done many years back....would anyone else hope to see the early Sherman M4A1 tank? It would utilize some of the features of the two previous mentioned kits....plus the great cast hull very pronounced with this highly produced version. It might exhibit all the early features too of the famous “Michael” tank at the Duxford Museum! Just thought I would ask.

Respectfully,
Jack

Oh Adrian....you are so correct....thank you for the clarification of this gross oversight. I am a pilot for American Airlines and flew International routes for 15 years. My favorite destination was the UK....and how could I forget that great museum (One of many you have) and get it so confused? Yes, I would very much love to see that tank. It’s curved lines are very recognizable in every prominent battle on the European front....as well as serving with the British 8th Army in Africa....having that “Pinkish” color with sand shields....oh, I get excited just thinking of that rendition! It would be a great undertaking....but I’m sure one Mark and Gill could handle.

Thanks again Adrian,
Jack

Pete,
Wow, am I disconnected or what! I don’t remember the transfer of Armortek to these other individuals as having occured. I appreciate you clarifying my mistake....and I hope I am forgiven! But, I still would like to see the Sherman M4A1 made. Over 9500 (Most produced variant made) of this significantly historical tank made and served in all theaters of war. And I don’t have problems due to radiation....as I wear Aluminum foil under my hat while flying to avoid Alien thought control! 😉,😂

I’ll raise it on both of you. If they can make that hull in the accurate shape that Tasca came quite close to capturing in 1/35 scale many years ago....I’LL TAKE TWO PLEASE! There are just endless opportunities with this tank no one has dared to do.

Fellow Armor Enthusiasts:
I am impressed with the shear volume of “Views” on this subject! Incrementally the number is really growing, since I posted my opinion. So, if I may ask.....Are those of you viewing this just looking because you like the subject of the Sherman M4A1, or are you also hoping to see an indication that this interest might take root as a future Armortek Kit? If your interest is in the latter, might I request you make a “Friendly” show of this interest on this posting....as it just might serve as a gentle “Push” of Armortek in that direction!

Respectfully,
Jack

GREAT NEWS!!!!!!
Armortek has just announced that it will now include the Sherman M4A1 into their multiple choice survey in the selection of a future release! This is outstanding, and perhaps will lead toward this becoming a reality. It is no doubt, that Armortek has noticed the “Hits”, or “Views” associated with this posting. So, I encourage all who are interested in seeing an M4A1, to continue to show your support for this, and let them know they made a good decision to include this in the survey!
