25pdr paint schemes

Post by Graham Hough »

Has anyone got some photos or tell me where to find some of a 25pdr located in North Africa in colour, showing the wear and tear of the gun.
I plan to paint it using UK BSC 64 Portland stone as the base but images of damaged, scrapped and worn examples would be very useful. Maybe there is one in a museum somewhere?

Have you tried primeportal.net? If not on there the site may give you hints on where to look. Easiest is to type "25 pounders in action" in Google Images- loads of piccies on there.

Thank you Adrian, an interesting group of photos. I see you are a HMVF forum member as well, I didn't think of using this forum.

It's good for photo filled restoration threads showing the internal details of vehicles, and for unending discussion about paint shades ;-)
