I needed a project that did not weigh hundreds of kilos, and not take up too much room and did not break the bank.
I have been working on it for about a week, I wanted it to be able to fire 9mm blanks (box of blanks left over from the 88) so to stay within the law I had to make some safety modifications, a new receiver fitted to breech block and into barrel with a 4 mm hardened steel pin located through barrel and receiver, allowing only room for the blank, and stopping any projectile,
also you can not vent from the front of the barrel, so I had to block the muzzle brake just forward of the first holes so it vents sideways, the muzzle break was also modified, (as this was to have been loctited into the barrel), the end of the barrel and brakewere tapped and a bronze bush screwed in and pined, this will stop the muzzle brake becoming a projectile, now that the main barrel assembly conforms to the law I started making a new breech lever with working spring catch, and the falling block fitted with firing pin, this is actuated by a prototypical side lever, pictures so far regards Jeff

next job I tackled was fixing the buffer to the recuperator slide, on the kit it is joined through the sides with countersunk bolts while full size uses four front facing eye bolts secured with nuts, I did this by brazing steel bar to the four corners on front of the recuperator slide, these were then slotted and drilled to take the eye bolts, I also reduced the length of the slide just past the side holes, recoil springs were added to the recuperator, this is the result so far regards Jeff

That will be awesome with the blank firing and recoil! From a liability standpoint you may be reluctant to share the blank firing design - I'd like to see how you do it too! That is really neat. I'm sure it will be a mini masterpiece like all your builds.

it has been just over a week since an update on the build, I assembled the 25 pounder to get an overall view, and what could be done to improve it, then took it apart again, I thought I would start with the wheels and axles, I made the brake drums, these will bolt to a plate fixed to the axle, also got rid of the dummy bolt for the wheel hub, and replaced it with an 8mm threaded stud and bolt, this is how far I got today regards Jeff

Those brake drums are beautiful! It is almost a crime to cover them with paint......
Might give it a shot after I have finished the sighting system.
