My labor of love?

Hi all,
I thought I might post some images of my nearly decade long project. Its finally nearing completion. I cleared posting this with the former owners (Mark and Gill) - but never posted the thread. I hope its ok with new owners as well. Posting this simply to create interest in 1/6 models and tanks in general. This project has kept me from completing an Armortek build for some time, as I'm trying to finish it. It does use two Armortek parts! The end connectors and track pins are modified Sherman parts. All others are scratch made. Thanks for looking! Thanks Armortek for allowing this type of post. For such a small vehicle this model is a beast - close to 75lbs with batteries.

Hi Bob
What a great build, I have been following this on the SAG forum over the years and it's good to see it getting the extra exposure it deserves.
Regards
Steve

Bob, you’re always so generous with your compliments and now it’s time to turn the tables on you. Ten years and inspired modlelling skills, dedication and flair and you’ve produced a masterpiece, which would take pride of place in any collection. I’m so glad Kian opened the “off topic” section so that models of this high standard get a chance to see daylight. If you’ve got any more quality builds hidden away, now is the time. You and Jeff, with his RR, have provided us with rare treats.

There is a Schiffer book dedicated to a plastic Stuart model in one sixth. It’s a very worthy model but yours stands out. Perhaps we should get Schiffer to do a follow on with some quality models from this Forum.

Thanks.

Stephen

Very nice REM, the M5's running gear is a joy and very photogenic. I have a new plastic version that needs a good home, I wonder if Armortek would consider producing an M5 sometime.Regards Phil.

Thanks all for the nice feedback.

Stephen I have the book you mention, It is a great reference for anyone making or modifying a Stuart. I love seeing the masterpieces that can be made from Armortek models. But there's something special about seeing and sharing scratch builds as well.

Phil the M5 suspension is very cool to see working, but a major pain to make. So many parts - I didn't think I'd ever get done with them. Give me German swing arm and big dished road wheels any day! LOL.

Cheers,
Bob
